
Former National Task Force in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) spokesperson Ret. Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. has been named as the substitute presidential aspirant under Katipunan ng Demokrating Pilipino (KDP).
According to GMA News’ Dano Tingcungco’s tweet, information from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) indicates that Parlade will substitute presidential aspirant Antonio Valdes of KDP.

But Tingcungco’s subsequent tweet indicates that Valdes had filed his certificate of candidacy as an independent presidential aspirant.

Parlade resigned from the NTF-ELCAC ahead if his retirement in July.
He became controversial during his NTF-ELCAC stint over his statements that allegedly linked some personalities to the communist movement.
