Vaccine czar Galvez: Only 4 out of 1,500 vaccinated minors had adverse effects

Only four out of the 1,500 minors with comorbidities who received COVID-19 vaccine jabs have reported adverse events and all of them minor, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. has said.

During a press conference on the vaccination of student-athletes, Galvez said that these minors experienced dizziness, increase in blood pressure, stress, and allergy.

A total of 1,509 minors with comorbidities aged 15 to 17 years old were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the first week of the rollout of pilot pediatric vaccination in Metro Manila, according to the Department of Health.

The Philippines started its vaccination of people aged 12 to 17 on October 15. The pilot is split into two phases: first, covering people aged 15 to 17; second, aged 12 to 14.

Initially, the pilot of vaccination for the age group covers eight hospitals. It expanded to13 more local government hospitals. -NB, GMA News
