Senate President and Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) chairman Vicente Sotto III on Thursday said a dialogue would still be held to determine the presidential candidate whom the party will support in the 2022 national elections.
Sotto was asked if the NPC, as a party, has already decided on who will be its presidential candidate for the May 2022 polls.
“We will meet with Sen. (Panfilo) Lacson for a dialogue. He is my endorsed candidate to our party. I expect many of my partymates will support him,” Sotto told GMA News Online.
Asked if the party is also conducting dialogues with other presidential candidates, Sotto responded: “I have none. I don’t know about the others.”
The tandem of Lacson and Sotto is set to endorse the following senatorial candidates:
- Antique Rep. Loren Legarda
- former senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito
- Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero
- former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista
- Senator Sherwin Gatchalian
