24 Oras wins Best News Program at Asian Academy Creative Awards

GMA’s “24 Oras” won the Best News Program in the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards.

The news program was hailed as the grand final winner in the category of Best News Program for its special coverage of Typhoon Ulysses in Luzon last November 2020.

At least 16 countries joined to compete in the annual awards.

24 Oras anchors Mike Enriquez, Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales said the recognition belongs to the Filipino people, who are the news program’s inspiration.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards was established to serve the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production, according to its website.

It honors excellence in the craft and technical disciplines of the Asia Pacific region across multiple platforms including television, digital and mobile among other technologies.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA News
