GSIS earmarks P3.2B for pensioners Christmas cash gift

Pensioners of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) shall expect a Christmas gift worth at least P10,000 as the state-run pension fund allocated P3.2 billion for the grant of the annual incentive.

In its Resolution N0. 139, uploaded on the GSIS’s website, the state workers’ pension fund said it appropriated P3,217,000,000.00 for the 2021 Christmas Cash Gift.

The cash gift shall be released starting December 1, 2021.

Entitled to the 2021 Christmas Cash Gift are the following pensioners who are receiving their regular monthly pensions and are living as of November 30, 2021:

  • Old-age/retirement pensioners
  • Disability pensioners
  • Old-age/retirement/disability pensioners who are on suspended status as of December 31, 2021 due to non-compliance with the Annual Pensioners’ Information Revalidation (APIR), provided they activate their status not later than April 30, 2022

The amount of cash gift range from P10,000 to P12,600.

In particular, the GSIS said pensioners whose 2020 Christmas Cash Gift was more than P10,000 shall be granted an amount equivalent to one-month current pension, up to a maximum of P12,600.

Meanwhile, pensioners whose 2020 Christmas Cash Gift was P10,000 and below shall be granted an amount equivalent to one-month current pension, up to a maximum of P10,000.

Pensioners who resumed their regular monthly pensions after December 31, 2020 – after the five-year guaranteed period – shall, likewise be granted an amount equivalent to one-month current pension, up to a maximum of P10,000, according to the GSIS.
