Presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao on Sunday said he is ready to cut ties with anyone who commits wrongdoing under his administration should he triumph in Eleksyon 2022.
“[D]ahil sa aking desisyon na pagtakbo ay kailangang ituwid na ang mga taong nasa paligid ko. Kailangan walang pabor-pabor dito. Hindi porket kasama kita eh papaboran kita,” he said in a statement.
The senator said he decided to sever his friendship with some close associates after learning they had been using his name to make money.
He said he had associates in the past who tried to take advantage of his kindness or begrudged his position on public issues so he decided to cut his ties with them. He, however, did not mention their names.
Pacquiao also said he would adopt a strict performance audit on all government officials should he become president.
He said he would only give government officials six months to a year to accomplish the tasks given to them.
“Istrikto po ako pagdating sa requirement [sa cabinet officials]…’Pag wala kang maipakita na improvement o development sa ahensya na ibinigay ko sa’yo eh kailangang palitan kita,” he said. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
