Representatives from the Philippines and Egypt’s business community met last Sunday to discuss trade and investment opportunities for both nations, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.
Present at the meeting were Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Ezzedin Tago, Cairo Chamber of Commerce vice president Ahmed El-Wasimi, secretary general and chief executive Khaled Mostafa, and senior public relations specialist Mohamed Samir Fahmi.
During the meeting, the representatives discussed trade and investment opportunities in pharmaceutical products, agricultural and food produce, as well as human resources.
“Ambassador Tago and VP El-Wasimi agreed that there are discoveries to be made in terms of two-way trade and investments,” the DFA said in a statement.
“The Philippine Embassy in Cairo and the Cairo Chamber of Commerce agreed to enhance economic bilateral relations and share information on the countries’ trade regulations and investment opportunities,” it added. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
