Vice President Leni Robredo’s spokesman on Sunday reminded Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza to be careful with his statements against Robredo amid the upcoming elections.
Attorney Barry Gutierrez was reacting to an alleged statement made by Atienza, who asked if Robredo had any accomplishments during her term as vice president. Atienza is also running for vice president, with Senator Manny Pacquiao as his president in Eleksyon 2022.
In response to Atienza, Gutierrez said amid a small budget, the Office of the Vice President’s programs were reported on official Facebook pages and in the media.
He cited that Robredo’s office distributed personal protective equipment to hospitals, provided free rides during the suspension of transport services during the lockdowns, set up a vaccine express as well as Swab Cab which provides mobile testing and vaccination.
“Napakadaming troll diyan, daming anonymous account, na sinasabi na walang ginawa is VP Leni pero sa katotohanan isa si VP Leni ang isa sa pinakamaraming ginawa sa lahat ng bise presidente sa bansa, kahit wala siyang Cabinet position,” said Gutierrez.
(There are many trolls, anonymous accounts that are saying that Leni did not do anything. But Leni is one of those vice presidents who had many accomplishments even without a Cabinet position.)
Gutierrez then suggested that vice presidential aspirant Atienza should be careful with his words especially if he is running for a higher post.
“Alam naman natin hindi aktwal na impormasyon o tamang datos kundi paninira, e haka haka na mali naman ang batayan so sana mag ingat din lalo na kung ikaw ay tatakbo, gusto mong tumayo bilang kandidato para sa mataas na pwesto, diba unang responsibilidad mo tiyakin mo muna kung sinasabi mo ay tama,” he said.
